Miriam Young
French Botanical Perfumer
Miriam Young is a French Botanical Perfumer, Medical Herbalist, and Aromatherapist with over 27 years of experience working with plants in both clinical practice and fragrance creation.
Her work combines herbal medicine, aromatherapy, and classical French perfumery, with a focus on natural materials, structure, and how scent interacts with wellbeing and perception over time.
Background in Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy
Miriam began her work in the 1990s through aromatherapy and natural medicine, later training in herbal medicine and working clinically with clients over many years.
Her clinical focus includes digestive health, stress patterns, hormonal balance, and general wellbeing, using traditional herbal approaches informed by physiological understanding.
Alongside clinical practice, she developed a parallel practice in natural perfumery.
French Perfumery Training
Miriam trained in classical French perfumery under a fourth-generation perfumer in Paris.
This training focused on composition, structure, and working with natural raw materials including essential oils, absolutes, resins, and botanical extracts.
It remains the foundation of her fragrance work today.
Theoria Gold Perfumes
Miriam is the founder of Theoria Gold Perfumes, a natural fragrance house creating perfumes made entirely from botanical ingredients.
Each fragrance is composed using natural materials sourced internationally, including Grasse in France, the historic centre of perfumery.
The work focuses on balance, structure, and the way natural materials evolve on the skin over time.
Signature Fragrance Collection
THEORIA
French Earl Grey Tea | Vetiver | Fresh Herbs | Lime
Theoria is the signature fragrance of the house.
It opens with bright citrus notes of bergamot and bitter orange peel, lifted by the distinctive aromatic character of French Earl Grey tea.
At its heart, soft green and herbal tones unfold, before settling into a grounded base of vetiver and dry woods.
Theoria is designed as a clear, structured fragrance — fresh at first impression, then warm, dry, and quietly earthy as it develops on the skin.
ROSE AIMÉE
Rose Otto | Honey| Spice | Benzoin
Rose Aimée is a long-form natural rose composition that took over 10 years to complete.
It opens with a pure full-bodied rose heart supported by soft resins and subtle spice.
The base is warm, slightly dry, and skin-close, allowing the rose to remain present without becoming heavy or overly sweet.
It is a study in natural rose structure — layered, balanced, and evolving rather than static.
NUIT D’AUSTRALIE
Native Woods | Fragonia | Pineapple| Night-flowering Jasmine
Nuits d’Australie is a best-selling fragrance for 2025–2026.
It is inspired by the Australian landscape at night — warm air, dry earth, and native botanical notes interpreted through a French perfumery structure.
The opening is soft and atmospheric, moving into fresh pineapple, night flowering jasmine and subtle floral undertones, before settling into warm Australian woods.
The result is a grounded, textured fragrance that reflects space, heat, and stillness.
Natural Perfumery
Miriam works exclusively with natural botanical ingredients.
Natural perfumery uses whole plant materials rather than isolated synthetic aroma molecules, creating fragrances that evolve on the skin and change over time.
This approach prioritises material integrity, traditional extraction methods, and the natural complexity of botanical ingredients.
Approach
Miriam’s work sits between herbal medicine and perfumery, with a shared focus on understanding plant materials, their structure, and their sensory impact.
Each fragrance is developed slowly, with attention to balance, clarity, and longevity on the skin.
